On Wednesday, a social media influencer Hitesha Chandranee in Bangalore shared a video of herself, in which she was seen with a bloody nose and she alleged that the food delivery app Zomato delivery man assaulted her over a delay in bringing her food order.
The police arrested the man identified as Kamaraj, was arrested after Chandranee lodged a complaint at the Electronic City Police Station the same day.
News agency ANI confirmed the same and tweeted as: “Karnataka: A delivery man of Zomato (in photo) has been booked and arrested for allegedly attacking a woman in Bengaluru, according to Bengaluru DCP (South East) Joshi Srinath Zomato says, “We deeply regret this incident & apologise to Hitesha for this traumatic experience”.

Hitesha narrated the whole story in a 4-minute long video of the incident and also shared that she has suffered a fracture to her nasal bone.

Zomato also issued an official statement and issued an apology. They also stated that they have delisted the delivery partner from their platform.
However, the accused alleged that it was Chandranee who attacked him first. The police said that Kamaraj gave a statement that stated that the model had asked for a refund for the order and he told her that the money can not be refunded from his side, but she refused to accept the food, which led to a verbal attack by her.
Further, he said that she tried to hit him with her slippers, and in self-defense, he pushed her which resulted in the injury, said the police.
