Zlatan Ibrahimovic becomes third current footballer to score 500 career goals
Former Sweden captain Zlatan Ibrahimovic became just the third active footballer to record 500 career goals when he scored a stunning mini round-kick goal in the 5-3 defeat to Toronto FC on Saturday.
A prolific striker and a goal machine Ibrahimovic joined Lionel Messi and Cristiano as the only three current footballers to score 500 career goals. His mini round-kick that left rival goalkeeper Alex Bono stunned, was Ibrahimovic’s 17th goal of the season. It’s not the first time I’ve gotten a standing ovation from the away team,” said Ibrahimovic referring to the standing ovation he had received from the Toronto fans after his stunning strike.
