Zlatan Ibrahimovic: ‘They said it was over, I said NO!’

The Swedish striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic suffered a severe knee injury which kept him out of the game for substantial period. The 36 year old made it clear that the injury was never going to stop him amidst speculations that he might not recover soon enough.

During a productive debut campaign at Old Trafford, the phenom suffered serious knee injury while in Europa League action in April 2017. He underwent a long rehabilitation program in order to return to full health.

Ibrahimovic kept his word and came back even more stronger doing wonders for MLS. He scored 15 goals in 17 appearances which included a recent hat-trick clash with Orlando City, allowing the Galaxy to recover from 2-1 down to produce a mind blowing 4-3 win.

He posted a message on his personal Twitter and Instagram account which was accompanied by a picture of his injured knee: “They said it was over. I said NO.”

The Swede striker in his own way had stated that he will make a comeback being even more stronger than ever before.

“I will go through this like everything else and come back even stronger. So far I played with one leg so it shouldn’t be any problem. One thing is for sure, I decide when it’s time to stop and nothing else. Giving up is not an option. See you soon.”, he said.

Medical professionals who helped to nurture him in the rehabilitation process stated that this was highly unimaginable that a 36 year old showed such speedy recovery after a gruesome injury.
