Former IPL champions Mumbai Indians have roped in Zaheer Khan as their Director of Cricket Operations.
The former Indian fast bowler has been part of the Mumbai Indians in the past for three editions and now is back to the Rohit Sharma-led camp. Zaheer, who has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket had been the captain of the Delhi Capitals, formerly known as the Delhi Daredevils.

“One of the pioneers of the knuckle-ball who was known for outsmarting batsmen, Zaheer will bring close to two decades of his cricketing experience in the new managerial role to Mumbai Indians,” a press release by Mumbai Indians said.
A total of 18 players have been retained by Mumbai Indians as they continue to retain their core in Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah. Other players like Mayank Markhande, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Aditya Tare, Anukul Roy and Rahul Chahar have been retained.
Among the overseas cricketers, Kieron Pollard, Ben Cutting, Evin Lewis, Jason Behrendorff, Adam Milne and Mitchell McClenaghan would continue to remain part of the side.
