After cricketer Yuvraj Singh, Bigg Boss 9’s Yuvika Chaudhary was arrested on Monday. It was in a case pertaining to the alleged use of casteist slur in a video. The actress was booked under the SC/ST Act. But she was later released on interim bail by the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Her legal representative, Ashok Bishnoi, released a statement about her arrest to news agency ANI.
Bishnoi said, “My client has joined the investigation as per the guidelines given by the High Court and she is on interim bail now (in a case of alleged offensive remarks against Scheduled Castes on a social media platform).”
Earlier this year, Yuvika Chaudhary had shot a video with her husband, Prince Narula. To describe how bad she looked, Yuvika had used a casteist slur. Soon after the video went viral, netizens started slamming her. Yuvika soon deleted the video and issued an apology. Her husband, actor Prince Narula, who was shooting the video also made videos defending the actress.
Yuvika was booked by the Haryana Police in May following a complaint by a Dalit rights activist Rajat Kalsan. He registered a complaint against her for making some derogatory and objectionable remarks about the Scheduled Caste community in the video.
