Twenty-Six Killed In Attack On Aden Airport After New Yemen Cabinet Lands
A deadly explosion rocked Yemen‘s Aden Airport killing twenty-six and wounding many more. The shocking incident took place moments after a plane landed carrying a newly formed cabinet arrived from Saudi Arabia. Two explosions rocked the airport as the Cabinet members were leaving the aircraft for their first meeting.
Loud blasts and gunfire were heard at the airport after the plane landed in Yemen’s temporary capital.

Smoke billowed out of the airport terminal from the initial blast. Debris was strewn across the area and people rushing to tend to the wounded. But soon a second explosion took place. Officials at the scene said they saw bodies lying on the tarmac at the airport.

Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik Saeed said, “It would have been a disaster if the plane was bombed. We and the members of the government are fine. The cowardly terrorist act is part of the war that is being waged against the Yemeni state and its great people. But we are here to stay.”

The cause of the explosions remains unclear, and no group has yet claimed responsibility.
