Xperia 1: World’s First Mobile Phone With 6.5-inch 4K OLED Display Launched At MWC 2019

Sony has unveiled several products at the Mobile World Conference 2019. The last flagship Sony launched at the conference was Xperia XZ‘s successor,  Xperia 1. The phone comes with 4,000 all screen design, 6.5-inch OLED display with 3840 x 1644 resolution and Gorilla Glass 6. Xperia 1 has been powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor and coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 512GB of memory.

The company claimed that Xperia 1 is the first mobile phone to feature 4K all-screen design. It would not be wrong if we say that Xperia 1 has been made especially keeping in mind the people who love playing games and run multiple application simultaneously. The phone houses Atmos 3D surround sound, Hi-Res audio, Sony’s Digital Sound Enhancement Engine, and LDAC. The same chipset Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor has already been used in several devices such as Galaxy S10, LG V8 ThinQ, LG V50 ThinQ, and Xiaomi Mi Mix 3.

Talking about Xperia 1’s camera, the Xperia 1 has three lenses with bright aperture and large pixel pitch to capture beautiful images in different scenes and challenging low light situations: 16mm super wide-angle, versatile 26mm and 52mm lens with 2x optical zoom. The company has also introduced a new camera feature called Eye AF which tracks your eyes.

Other notable Sony camera technologies, including the Bionz X engine and tech from the Alpha interchangeable lens cameras, have been adapted for the Xperia 1. The phone also supports 4K HDR video recording at 24 frames per second in the 21:9 format. Sony Xperia 1 has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Sony’s Xperia 1 has been packed with 3,330 mAh battery, IP68 dust and water certification, and runs on Android 9.0 Pie. There has been no official announcement has been made about its availability.  If anything to go by reports, Xperia 1 has been priced at Rs 72,000 approximately.
