WWE star Roman Reigns’ announces that he has leukaemia
WWE star Roman Reigns on Monday said that he would take some time off from the squared circle after a recurrence of leukaemia.
Reigns 33, whose real name is Joe Anoa’i is the current holder of the WWE Universal Championship and he relinquished his title while making his announcement on the weekly episode of ‘Monday Night Raw.’
Joe had been diagnosed with the dreadful disease when he was 22, way back in the year 2008. On ‘Raw’, he stated that he would be back to the ring after he was fully cured of the disease.
The superstar of Samoan origin has featured in the main event of the last four Wrestlemanias–WWE’s premier pay-per-view competition and had won the Universal title earlier this year.
“Reigns is taking his battle with leukaemia public in an effort to raise awareness and funds for research in order to advance cures for the disease,” a statement by WWE read.
This news was followed by support pouring in from all ends for the superstar with names like Braun Strowman, Shaun Michaels, Finn Balor, Triple H all offering their best wishes for his speedy recovery as he left the building after he made the announcement.
