Wriddhiman Saha successfully undergoes shoulder surgery in England
Indian wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha on Wednesday underwent a laberal repair surgery on his shoulder under the supervision of the BCCI medical team in Manchester as England hosted India in the first-Test of the five-match series at Birmingham.
The board itself revealed the news on its official Twitter handle, wishing the 33-year-old a speedy recovery.

“Here’s wishing @Wriddhipops a speedy recovery. He underwent a laberal repair surgery in Manchester today under the supervision of BCCI Medical Team,” said a tweet from the board that also had a picture of the wicket-keeper following his surgery.
Reportedly, Saha had to undergo the surgery that rules him out for the next seven-eight weeks possibly after his rehabilitation was botched by the medical team at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

The wicket-keeper from Bengal was forced to return early from the South African tour after a hamstring injury. He then playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL), injured his thumb which ruled him out of the one-off Test match against Afghanistan in Bangalore.
However, after repeated assessments, it was learned the problem was a much bigger thing. Saha was found out to be carrying a shoulder injury which again ruled him out the England tour. Currently, India’s first-choice wicket-keeper Saha has so far played 32 Tests and has scored 1164 runs with three centuries to his name.

In his absence, Dinesh Karthik was selected as the first choice wicket-keeper for the England tour while 20-year-old Rishab Pant is the backup option.
A BCCI official was quoted by PTI saying that the shoulder surgery will keep Saha out for complete two months before he can even start his rehabilitation. Going by that he is likely to miss the Australian tour later this year.
