Indian women’s T20 vice-captain Smriti Mandhana said that her stint in Women’s Big Bash League and Super League (in England) would help her to gear up well for the next Twenty-20 World Cup to be played in Australia.
“As a player, you need to come out of comfort zone. when you come out and play in the WBBL or the KSL (England Super League) there are different expectations of you as a foreign player. And dealing with those expectations helps when you play in big tournaments like a World Cup.”

“I had that in my mind but as a player, you need to come out of your comfort zone. All my coaches said you need to go if you want to develop as a player you need to leave your comfort zone,” she said, as quoted by Cricket Australia.
Mandhana didn’t impact this year’s T20 World Cup where she score just one fifty. But her World T20 form doesn’t explain the way she has been playing all year.
During India’s tri-series against England and Australia, she racked up three fifty-plus scores and carried on in the same vein in the Super League where she even scored a hundred and a fifty that came off just 28 balls.
She was dismissed on the second delivery in this year’s Women’s Big Bash League which is the second time she is participating in the tournament.
Nonetheless, she shrugged off a poor debut for her new franchise Hobart Hurricanes and slammed a 41-ball 69 in her second match for the side.
