Delhi: Woman bites off almost half of husband’s tongue while kissing

A shocking incident came to light in Delhi, a 22-year-old pregnant woman allegedly bit off her husband’s tongue on Saturday when she was kissing him, as she is reportedly unhappy with him and felt he was not good looking.

The incident took place in Delhi’s Ranhola region. Neighbours say, “the woman was unhappy with her husband and she felt he was not handsome.” Her husband is said to be a street artist and the couple had regular spat due to compatibility issues.

According to the police, the couple had an altercation but later patched up. However, the next time the pregnant woman kissed him she bit off almost half of his tongue. The victim’s father informed the police about the incident.

The victim had to undergo an emergency surgery at the Safdarjung Hospital. According to doctors, “it would be difficult to assess at the moment that whether or not the victim would ever be able to talk again.”

The Police told PTI, the woman has been detained and the case has been filed against her under section 326 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) on grounds of ‘voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means, punishable with life imprisonment.’

The detained woman is reportedly eight months pregnant. The couple has been married for two years.
