A packed Centre Court was dominated by Federer fans wearing branded hats and clothing, faces painted with Swiss flags. They cheered louder and louder with every point the eight time Wimbledon champion scored. Roger Federer gave away his headband to a lucky fan in the crowd post the dominating victory against the Serbian.
“There are matches where you know you have to bring your A game. And there are matches where you practice and bring your C game, maybe even D game. That is what this looked like,” said the three time Wimbledon champion, Boris Becker.
“I’m very happy. I felt good from the start, which was not the case against him last year. I felt at home.”, Roger Federer said.
