WhatsApp will stop working on a number of smartphones from November. These will be not only from Android but also from Apple iPhones. WhatsApp on September 5 announced that it will remove support from 43 old smartphone models from November.
The reason being that with WhatsApp rolling out new features and targetting to launch many more. The older phones will become obsolete and therefore, will not be able to properly run the app. Also, WhatsApp may not be able to provide proper security or end-to-end encryption facility to these phones.
As reported by sources to Star, With the Facebook owned apps new rules, Users of 43 models of Apple and Android phones will no longer be able to use WhatsApp This will be from November 1, 2021. The smartphone models with Android 4.0.4 or earlier and iOS 9 or earlier will stop being able to access WhatsApp.
Here is the list of smartphones on which WhatsApp will stop working.:
Apple
The first generation iPhone SE, 6s and 6s Plus.
Samsung
The Samsung Galaxy Trend Lite, Galaxy Trend II, Galaxy S2, Galaxy S3 mini, Galaxy Xcover 2, Galaxy Core and Galaxy Ace 2.
LG
The LG Lucid 2, Optimus F7, Optimus F5, Optimus L3 II Dual, Optimus F5, Optimus L5, Optimus L5 II, Optimus L5 Dual, Optimus L3 II, Optimus L7, Optimus L7 II Dual, Optimus L7 II, Optimus F6, Enact, Optimus L4 II Dual, Optimus F3, Optimus L4 II, Optimus L2 II, Optimus Nitro HD and 4X HD, and Optimus F3Q.
ZTE
The ZTE Grand S Flex, ZTE V956, Grand X Quad V987 and Grand Memo.
Huawei
The Huawei Ascend G740, Ascend Mate, Ascend D Quad XL, Ascend D1 Quad XL, Ascend P1 S and Ascend D2.
Sony
