Facebook owned WhatsApp came under backfire after it was alleged of leaking users data. This comes right after the application introduces its new privacy policy, stating that it has modified the manner in which it would process user data, along with integration with Facebook and its products. This sparked the controversy and millions of users apparently made a shift from WhatsApp to other alternatives. Apps such as Signal and Telegram were in top position last week. Now, WhatsApp has displayed its official status to explain about its new privacy policy to the users.
It appears like WhatsApp is making all the efforts to rebuild the trust among all its users. After sharing updates about its privacy policy in several advertisements, it has now displayed an official status in the status section. On Sunday, users across the globe could see a newly added feature WhatsApp status with a blue tick, which displays cryptic key points about the privacy policy and it talks about not sharing the user data.

After the data leak controversy rose to trends on social media, WhatsApp delayed its deadline to accept the revised privacy policy to February 8. Meanwhile, the company is trying all the measures to explain about its privacy policy.
For the unversed influential figures such as Elon Musk had tweeted suggesting the users to make a shift to Signal. Amidst the WhatsApp row this application has seen a sudden serge in user applications, due to which is also faced a technical error. On Friday, Signal had displayed a notification to its users about facing technical error.
