Love Commandos is a Delhi-based NGO which helps love-couples to fight obstacles in their journey. The organisation gained popularity when its chief Sanjoy Sachdev, featured on Aamir Khan’s TV show, Satyamev Jayate, to shed light on honour killing.
The show will be helmed by Faisal Malik of Hamari Film Company and directed by Sanjeev Sharma of Saat Uchakkey. Malik tells mid-day, “We have secured the rights to narrate their story. The casting is underway. Love Commandos helps lovers who are shunned by family and society. Pitching against the act of honour killing, they provide assistance in protecting couples, helping them fight harassment and giving them shelter so that they can be wed. The episodes will be about the members and the cases that they have come across.”
The NGO was set up in the year 2010 and helps couples who have been shunned away by the society. It invites volunteers across India and from all walks of life. The NGO works to unite people who identify themselves as transgenders. Malik has also produced the upcoming web series, Smoke, which stars Kalki Koechlin, Jim Sarbh, Gulshan Devaiah, Neil Bhoopalam and Mandira Bedi.
