Indian skipper Virat Kohli came up a moment of brilliance on the field when he pulled off a stunning catch during the first day’s play in the second Test in Perth.
The lanky Ishant Sharma came on to bowl and delivered one outside the off-stump which was short of length. Peter Handscomb the batsman, who was batting on seven attempted a cut shot but didn’t get the expected width and hence, ended up edging one to Kohli, who pulled off an absolute ripper with an outstretched right-hand.
With Handscomb’s dismissal, Ishant had his first wicket on a day he found it tough to make an impact because he had to keep in mind whether he crossed the line to avoid his issues with the no-ball.
India had opted to go for an all-pace pronged attack in the first Test on a pacy Perth pitch where the Australian openers made the visitors were made to toil hard.
