Ajith Kumar and Nayanthara starrer Viswasam breaks Baahubali 2 record

Ajith Kumar and Nayanthara starrer, Viswasam was released on 10 January 2019. The Telugu-dubbed version was released on March 1 in 450 theaters in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and the Kannada version named Jagamalla was released on March 7. The movie has been getting rave reviews from the audiences and it had beaten Rajinikanth’s Petta that released on the same date i.e on January 10. It opened with great box office numbers. Viswasam also became the most viewed South Indian film on television. It got premiered on television on May 1 i.e on Ajith’s birthday.

As per trade analyst Ramesh Bala, Viswasam created a unique record in Tamil Cinema. He tweeted saying:

He also tweeted that Viswasam’s TV premiere has beaten Baahubali 2 and other big movies.

Viswasam is a story of a protective father played by Ajith and how he reunites with his daughter. It minted Rs 130 crores in Tamil Nadu and crossed Rs 200 crores worldwide.
