Virat Kohli trolled after standing on a block to look taller than Tennis player Karman Kaur Thandi

Virat Kohli was trolled when a picture of him standing on a tall platform to look taller than Tennis player Karman Kaur Thandi came up on the internet

India captain Virat Kohli is considered to be a role model by many youths in the country and many look up to him as an inspiration. But even the talented cricketer wasn’t sparred by the users on social media when a picture of him standing on a tall platform to match the height of a taller Tennis player Karman Kaur Thandi came up on the internet.

The aforementioned incident took place at a promotional event in Mumbai almost a week ago. But the images resurfaced on social media and on seeing Kohli using the platform, netizens criticised him for his alleged ‘male ego’ and the constant disbelief that men cannot look shorter than women no matter what happens.

The event was organised by Tissot – a watch brand Kohli endorses – at a five-star hotel in Bandra where a special edition of the watch, “Tissot Chrono XL Classic Virat Kohli 3018 line” was launched. The event was also attended by other sporting icons such as Satnam Singh, Karman Kaur Thandi, Aadil Bedi, Shivani Kataria, Sachika Kumar Ingale, Jehan Daruwala, Pinky Rani and Manoj Kumar.

All of these stars are interestingly part of the Kohli foundation. They were all presented with the special edition watch by Kohli.

The India skipper first used the platform when Basketball player Satnam Singh, who is 7ft and 2 inches tall, came to receive the watch. It looked like Kohli had done it to ensure that their wrists with the watch are captured in the same frame. He repeated this again when Karman came to receive the watch.

It, however, did not go well with the fans who thought that it was another example of patriarchy and men’s conscience to be dominating.
