This picture went viral on social media and people started slamming Mallya and his son. Netizens are chanting the same words, “Vijay Mallya chor hai” and “chor ka beta chor” and many more. Also, some accused the government of not taking any action against the businessman.
Here are some comments from people.
This is not the first time he is called ‘chor’. In January 2017, he faced the same backlash from the public when he arrived to watch the India vs South Africa Champions Trophy match at The Oval cricket ground.
Mallya who is out on bail in Britain since last year is undergoing a UK High Court appeals process against his extradition order signed off by UK home secretary Sajid Javid.
For the unversed, Vijay Mallya absconded from India on March 2, 2016, after defaulting loan of Rs 9,000 crore. He is yet to repay the loans to banks.
