If the latest speculations are to be believed, Tollywood heartthrob Vijay Deverakonda has signed a massive Rs 100 crore deal with top Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar. Apparently, Vijay’s ongoing pan-India film, tentatively titled Fighter, is part of this whopping deal.
As reported by a source to Tollywood net, “Dharma Productions head honcho Karan Johar has taken the Arjun Reddy star under his wings and has promised to make Vijay a national star. KJo has agreed to pay Rs 100 crore to Vijay per year. Vijay has to sign films sanctioned by Karan under the deal.”
The sources further added, Vijay is already doing a pan-Indian film with director Puri Jagannadh. He had also confessed in an interview that the movie will also mark his debut in Bollywood. Karan is planning to make more pan-Indian films or direct Bollywood films with Vijay. Whether Vijay does a film or not, but Karan Johar has agreed to pay the money to Geetha Govindam star.”
If the news turns out to be true, we can say that Vijay has struck gold.
On the work front, Vijay Deverakonda is currently busy in the shoot of ‘Fighter’ which is progressing at the brisk pace in Mumbai. The movie has Student of The Year 2 actress Ananya Panday in the female lead role. The movie is jointly being bankrolled by Karan Johar, Puri Jagannadh and Charmee Kaur.
Vijay is undergoing professional training to polish his boxing skills for the role. The movie will be released in Hindi and Telugu simultaneously.
‘Fighter ‘ also features Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy, Vishu Reddy, Aali, Makarand Desh Pandey and Getup Srinu in pivotal roles.
