Sam Bahadur: Vicky Kaushal announces title of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw's biopic
Bollywood actor will be seen playing the role of legendary Army Man Sam Manekshaw in his next. On the birth anniversary of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, Vicky has unveiled the title of valiant Indian military officer’s biopic. The Meghna Gulzar directorial is titled Sam Bahadur. The war hero’s biographical drama is being produced by Ronnie Screwvala.
Sharing the title, Vicky wrote, “The man. The legend. The brave heart. Our Samबहादुर. On the birth anniversary of Field Marshal #SamManekshaw, his story has found its name. #SamBahadur.”

The title was announced through a video voiced by lyricist Gulzar. The writer is heard saying, “Kayi naamo se pukaare gaye, par ek naam se humare hue, ‘Sam Bahadur’.
For the unversed, Sam Manekshaw’s military career spanned four decades and five wars. He was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal. Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw was Chief of Army Staff in the 1971 India — Pakistan war. He had led the country to victory against Pakistan in 1971. He died in Wellington, Tamil Nadu, on June 27, 2008.
On the work front, Vicky Kaushal also has ‘Sardar Udham Singh’ directed by Shoojit Sircar. He also has Sci-Fi Drama Ashwatthama. The movie is being produced by Veteran producer Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP, directed by Aditya Dhar.
