Rohit Shetty has given fans some blockbuster cop series. From Singham to Simmba and now Sooryavanshi, Rohit has managed to wow audiences with his cop universe. The filmmaker is now all set to bring the gritty cop drama on the OTT platform. Apparently, Vicky Kaushal, Sidharth Malhotra and Tiger Shroff are in the race for the lead role.
As reported by sources to Mid-Day, Rohit Shetty is all set to back his first digital web series. It is a cop drama, for Amazon Prime Video that will be helmed by his assistant Sushwanth Prakash. The report further added that the filmmaker is in initial level talks with Vicky Kaushal, Sidharth Malhotra and Tiger Shroff to headline the eight-episode series.
Sources further added that, “They are Rohit’s top choices for the role as the material demands an actor who is adept at the action. If all goes well, the actioner will roll by December. Though it marks Rohit’s foray into the OTT world, he is not in a rush to announce it and will probably do so only after the release date of Sooryavanshi is finalised.”
If the reports do come true then it will be interesting to see who bags the cop series.
Sooryavanshi is the fourth film in Shetty’s cop universe after Ajay Devgn-starrer Singham, Singham Returns and Simmba, starring Ranveer Singh. It features Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in leading roles. The release date has been postponed due to the COVID pandemic. Rohit is at present busy with Cirkus featuring Ranveer Singh, Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline Fernandez.
