Actor Vicky Kaushal is all set to play the role of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw in a biopic. The actor has now paid a tribute to the most decorated soldier on his death anniversary. The Uri star has shared a video that is a montage of a rare black and white picture of Manekshaw. Along with it, he has also shared his look from the Meghna Gulzar film.
The striking resemblance with the Field Marshal in Vicky’s look from the biopic will leave you stunned.
Sharing the video on Instagram, Vicky wrote, “Remembering one of India’s finest- Field Marshal #SamManekshaw. This journey is going to be very special! with @meghnagulzar #RonnieScrewvala @Bharat_rawail @rsvpmovies @bhavani.iyer @ishantanus.”
He also shared his look from the film and wrote, “A huge honour and an even bigger responsibility. #FieldMarshalSamManekshaw.”
Vicky Kaushal will play the role of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw in the biopic being directed by Meghna Gulzar. The film will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala.
Field Marshal Manekshaw, or Sam Bahadur as he was popularly known, was born on April 3, 1914, in Amritsar. He cheated death on a few occasions, both on the battlefield and away from it. He, however, lived on to be a nonagenarian dying in Wellington, Tamil Nadu, on June 27, 2008. The Field Marshal who led the country to victory against Pakistan in 1971. He was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal.
