Veteran Bengali actor, Soumitra Chatterjee was hospitalised few weeks back and he had tested positive for the COVID-19 infection. He was under a strict medical attention and a group of doctors have been looking after his health condition, earlier revealed his daughter. According to the latest reports the actor’s health deteriorates further more and he has stopped responding to the treatments.
The 85-year-old actor apparently stopped responding to the treatments and on Saturday his health condition got worsen then before. Although his organs were functioning ‘well’, the platelet count has been dropped and the level of urea and sodium in his blood has gone up reveals Dr. Arindam Kar, who is one of the leading doctor from the team who is treating Soumitra. “Though his lungs and blood pressure are still working well, there are points to be worried of. His platelet count has come down. We are trying to find out the reason for that. We will take some tough calls tomorrow,” reportedly said the doctor further.
The veteran actor is known for his great contribution in the feild of cinema. He has been active ever since he began his career and he has collaborated with legendary filmmakers such as Oscar-winner, Satyajit Ray and few others. Among his most famous projects ‘Ashani Sanket’, ‘Ghare Baire’, ‘Aranyer Din Ratri’, ‘Charulata’ and few among others.
