Coronavirus outbreak has caused a lot of difficulties in the nation and celebrities are doing their best to extend help to people in need. Due to the pandemic, the Bollywood background dancers too are facing troubles. Varun Dhawan has come to their rescue, he has lent a helping hand to 200 dancers
Raj Surani, a former background dancer told Times Of India, “Varun Dhawan has helped the needy dancers. He has worked with a lot of them in three dance films. He was very concerned about how the dancers are managing their livelihood. He promised to help them and try and address their problems.”
Further, Raj said, “There are many dancers who continue to face issues with their landlords over rent. There are others who have ailing parents and there are seniors who need medicine from time to time. We are thankful to all those who are helping the dancers. Though shooting has begun but dancers will have to wait for really long time before they can go back on sets.”
On the work front, Dhawan will be seen next in David Dhawan’s comedy film ‘Coolie No 1’which also stars Sara Ali Khan, Paresh Rawal, Javed Jaffrey, Rajpal Yadav, and Johnny Lever. The film is a remake of 1995 Govinda and Karisma Kapoor starrer.
Earlier, it was scheduled to release on May 1, 2020. However, due to the COVID 19 lockdown and theatre shut down, it had to be postponed. Now, the latest report states, that the makers reportedly have picked January 1, 2021, ‘to bring in the New Year with laughter.’
