India still reels as a land of superstitions in its rural hinterland.Proving this point further, on Monday, a teenager named Anirudh Yadav allegedly sacrificed himself by slitting his throat at a temple in the Badosarai on Monday, police said.
Superintendent of Police B P Srivastava said that on Monday morning when Anirudh Yadav reached the Devi temple in Kotwadham, he slit his throat as an act of sacrifice. Anirudh was only 18 years old.
An eyewitness, said that Anirudh was a regular visitor to the Devi temple.
Earlier, in an inhuman act, a 70-year-old retired cop Abdul Samad Khan was beaten to death in a broad daylight by three men in Uttar Pradesh’s Allahabad region. The entire accident has been captured in CCTV camera. The video of the accident shows, a man donning a red shirt repeatedly attacking the victim.
Later, another man joined the culprit to assault Abdul Samad Khan, the 70-year-old man tried hard to shield himself from the assailants but all was in vain. The irony is, there were several two-wheelers who had slowed down to watch the accident, but none of them came forward to help this octogenarian cop. He was then rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to death. Abdul Samad Khan retired as a sub-inspector in 2006.
