The family of a 70-year-old man wants to file FIR against some monkeys after the mammals allegedly stoned the man to death in a village near Bhagpat in Uttar Pradesh.
The incident took place on October 17 in the Tikri Village of Bhagpat district, said news agency PTI on Saturday.
The deceased was sleeping near a pile of bricks on Wednesday when the monkey jumped on the bricks. As a result, the bricks collapsed and fell on the victim Dharampal, leaving him injured. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where succumbed to his injuries, said Circle officer Ramala Rajiv Pratap Singh to the news agency.
The victim’s family though gave a different narrative. Krishnapal Singh, the brother of the deceased in his complaint to the police said that Dharampal was collecting woods when he was attacked by the monkeys, who threw stones to his chest and head that injured Dharampal. He was taken to the hospital but succumbed to injuries.
“We have submitted a written complaint against the monkeys, but the police is terming it as an accident,” alleged Krishnapal.
