A shocking road accident killed Fourteen people, including six children. The tragic incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Pratapgarh. An SUV in which they were travelling rammed into a truck on the Prayagraj-Lucknow highway near Deshraj Inara village. All the occupants of the SUV died in the crash.

The victims were returning home after attending a wedding. Visuals from the accident show a crumpled Mahindra Bolero being pulled out from the back of the truck. Five bodies were recovered soon after the crash. The remaining were retrieved after the SUV was pulled out.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has extended his condolences over the accident and has directed senior officials to reach the spot and provide all possible help, his office was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

He has also announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakhs each to next of the kin of the deceased.
