US President Donald Trump added himself into the growing list of celebrity trolls after incorrectly tweeting about the celebration of Diwali, which is a Hindu festival of lights.
Trump on Tuesday participated in the ceremonial lighting of the diyas during the Diwali festival celebration at the White House. And all seemed to go on well until Trump decided to tweet about the celebration and share the pictures from the white house.
In his tweet of greetings to the entire world on the auspicious occasion of Diwali, Trump forgot to mention the ‘Hindus’, while mentioning the Buddhists, Sikhs, and Jain religions. In fact, it took the United States three attempts to finally tweet the correct wishes but by then many Twitter users had noticed the error and hilariously pointed it out.
The first tweet from the official account of President Trump was “Today, we gathered for Diwali, a holiday observed by Buddhists, Sikhs, and Jains throughout the United States & around the world.” Many netizens noticed it and were quick to point out that Trump had missed mentioning ‘Hindus’ which is the biggest Diwali celebrating community in the world.

A second tweet followed from the same account after the first tweet was deleted but then ironically the message had again missed the word ‘Hindus’ in its wishes. Finally, in a third tweet, Trump wrote, “It was my great honor to host a celebration of Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights.”
It, however, was too late and by then Trump was trending on social media as many users took to Twitter to mock the US head for his lack of common sense. Here are some of the Twitter reactions:
