US Open: Serena Williams’ outfit sets Twitter on fire
Serena Williams surged into the third round of the US Open with a breathtaking 6-2, 6-2 victory over Carina Witthoeft of Germany at the Arthur Ashe stadium on Wednesday.
She will next face elder sister Venus Williams in the next round.
But although the win over the 101st ranked German earned her plaudits worldwide, especially for the fact that she is making her return back to the Tennis-court following a life-threatening surgery after the birth of her daughter Olympia, it was the lavender tutu she wore that created a storm on social media.

The tutu outfit Serena sported earned her praise from many netizens, with some calling it her victory over the patriarch society, on the light of the Catsuit controversy. She was banned from wearing the Wakanda inspired at the French Open after the French Tennis Federation president spoke of bringing a dress code at Ronald Garros.
