Urie Brendon: “It’s daunting. It’s very overwhelming in the best way”
The singer expresses on winning two awards at the BBMA
Taylor Swift’s latest single has made a lot of noise ever since the music video was released. Co-performed with Urie Brandon, the single has topped the Bill Board charts in a very short while. While the song tops the charts, Brendon took home 2 awards for the top rock song.
The Bill Board Music Awards which took place today early morning (IST) saw a lot of artists coming over and receiving and giving away awards. But the interview with Urie Brendon was pretty amazing as the singer was pretty chilled and jolly
The singer when asked about winning awards for top rock song for ‘High Hopes’ and top rock album, “It’s daunting. It’s very overwhelming in the best way, and I’m just so grateful, really. I’m so appreciative.”
He also adds “There’s nothing more validating than the people who really care about your craft,” he shared. “I’m eternally grateful to my fans. There’s no reason for me to be here without them. The only reason I get to do this is because they allow me to do this. They continue to love and support and it blows my mind in the best way possible and I am so happy.”
Urie Brendon also tells us that he has been a fan of Taylor Swift for a very long time. He also opens up how he came on working with Taylor. He had received a text from her while he was on tour in January, “She texted me this very sweet long text,” he says. “I teared up at the end because I didn’t expect something like that, for a first text…She sent me the song and I just gushed over her, basically reciprocating the love saying I am such a massive fan of yours, and I can’t wait to work with you on this song. I haven’t had the song out of my head since I heard it first, and it’s been so hard to keep it a secret and now I don’t have to and I’m relieved.”
While the singer is now the holder of two awards, is already working on some ideas for the future but also will take time out to chill with his fans online.
