Actress Yami Gautam has donned a new avatar for her upcoming release ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’. On December 4, the makers have unveiled the first look of the actress from the military drama that also features Vicky Kaushal in a pivotal role.

In the picture, Yami is dressed in a grey pantsuit and blue shirt paired with a short hairdo. She is looking intense as an intelligence officer. In the movie, her character will help the army plan and execute the strike. This is the first time Gautam will be seen in a character belonging to the armed forces.
The movie is based on the surgical strikes carried out by the Indian army in retaliation of the terror attacks on the Indian Army camp in Uri in Kashmir. The movie has Vicky Kaushal depicting the role of the commander-in-chief who led a group of paratroopers in the surgical strikes.
‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ also stars Paresh Rawal, Kirti Kulhari and Mohit Raina in pivotal roles. Directed by debutant Aditya Dhar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, it is scheduled to hit the theatres on 11 January, 2019.
