8 cops killed, 6 injured in raid at notorious history-sheeter Vikas Dubey's house, UP CM Yogi Adityanath seeks report
Eight police personnel were killed and six cops injured along with a Deputy SP Devendra Mishra. The incident took place during a raid at history-sheeter Vikas Dubey’s house. The raid was carried out at around 1 am on the intervening night of July 2-3. It took place in Bithoor’s Dikru village in Chaubepur police station area in Kanpur.
As reported by sources to Zee News, As the police team reached the spot, they were ambushed by Dubey’s men. They continuously shot at the cops from the rooftops killing a number of them before escaping. The deceased cops have been identified as DSP Devendra Kumar Mishra, SO Mahesh Yadav, Chowki Incharge Anup Kumar, Sub-Inspector Nebulal, Constables Sultan Singh, Rahul, Jitendra, and Bablu.
Case under Sec 307 was lodged against history-sheeter Vikas Dubey, Police had gone to arrest him. JCBs were put up there which obstructed our vehicles. When Force got down, criminals opened fire. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed his condolence to the families of the eight police personnel who lost their lives. He has also directed DGP HC Awasthi to take strict action against the criminals.
Vikas Dubey, a notorious criminal, carries a reward of Rs 25,000 on his head. He has also been a former member of the district panchayat. He has at least 53 cases of murder attempts against him.
