Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s father-in-law and Rashami Thackeray’s father Madhav Patankar passed away on Sunday. A senior Shiv Sena leader said Madhav Patankar had been ailing for quite some time. Patankar was 76 years old.
According to the Sena leader, Patankar was suffering from various health issues, including kidney ailment. He was hospitalized in Criticare hospital in Andheri. Earlier he was admitted in Bombay Hospital and Hinduja Hospital too for treatment.
Madhav Patankar ran a family business of chemical production. He lived close to his daughter Rashami Thackeray’s residence Matoshree in Bandra (East).
NCP MP Supriya Sule tweeted: “Deeply saddened to hear to about the demise of Shri Madhav Patankar – father of Mrs. Rashmi Uddhav Thackeray. My heartfelt condolences. May he rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers with the Patankar and Thackeray family.”
As reported by sources, The last rites were performed on Monday morning.
Uddhav Thackeray today canceled his meeting with the Congress leaders, who are reportedly upset with the state cabinet, for not including them in the key decision making. Balasaheb Thorat said the key meeting will be held in the next few days.
