Uddhav Thackeray alerts netizens to be prepared for lockdown-like restrictions

India has recorded its highest single-day surge in the span of last five months with fresh Coronavirus cases. The per day surge crossed the mark of 63,000 just few days ago. Maharashtra, Karnataka, Delhi and few other states include in the list of highest contributors in this new pandemic wave. Addressing the issues of rapidly rising COVID-19 cases, MAHA CM Uddhav Thackeray asked officials from the health department to prepare strict plans which are similar to lockdown.

Considering the Holi festival, Maharashtra government has already announced the night curfew across the state for few days. CM Uddhav Thackeray now alerts the citizens to be prepared for lockdown-like situations. Due to sharp surge in fresh Coronavirus cases the state may also face a healthcare crisis. And thus CM has asked his officials to prepare a plan to impose a lockdown like restrictions. As per the department’s observations the COVID-19 protocols are not being followed across the state.

According to a latest report by NDTV,  Health Minister Rajesh Tope said since people are not following the rules, the administration is forced to move towards a lockdown.

For  the unversed, Maharashtra reported to have 35,726 fresh COVID-19 cases on Saturday. Which takes the total count to 26,73,461, according to the data by the health department.
