Tyson Fury beats Deontay Wilder to win WBC heavyweight championship

Tyson Fury won the much-anticipated rematch against Deontay Wilder on Saturday. The rematch was held on Saturday night at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. While Fury didn’t score a one-punch knockout, he did knock Wilder down twice and dominated him in the seventh round. The Gypsy King had entered the arena on a throne and leaves the ring with the title on his throne.

Fury “the Gypsy King” became WBC heavyweight champion once again. With the win, Fury gains the WBC and vacant The Ring heavyweight title, while retaining the lineal heavyweight belt.

As reported by ESPN, The Gypsy King was exceptional in timing his punches and attack. He was quick to swerve and dodge Wilder’s attack and once Wilder started bleeding in round four after being sent to the floor in round 3, it was only a matter of time before Fury closed out the fight.

The re-match, after the first one was a draw, has been won by Fury. The two boxers signed a trilogy contract, meaning that there will be a third fight.
