On Thursday (Aug 5), Indian men’s hockey team scripted a history bagging the bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics. This marks India’s fourth Bronze medal in the history of participation in the Olympics. The men’s team had won the bronze medal for the first time during 1980’s and its been 41 years since the nation’s men’s hockey team didn’t bring the medal. This years match was no less than a mesmerising show, with edge-of-the-seat play-off as the Indian men’s team defeated Germany with 5-4 eyeing for the bronze. PM Narendra Modi, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar and many others shared warm posts cheering the players. Farhan Akhtar was also among the celebs to share cheering post, however, he mistakenly tweeted about the girls hockey team. After Twitterati reacted to his post, he rectified the mistake.
Farhan Akhtar first tweeted, “Go Girls!!! So proud of #teamIndia for showing exemplary fighting spirit and bringing in our 4th medal..super stuff. #Tokyo2020 #Hockey.” Later he rectified his mistake. After deleting the first post, he then posted, “So proud of #teamIndia for showing exemplary fighting spirit and bringing in our 4th medal .. super stuff. #Tokyo2020 #Hockey.”
