Twitter To Soon Implement Hide Tweet Button For Healthy Tweeting
Twitter is testing the Hide Tweet button to empower users to pelt unnecessary conversation, the info was first leaked by App Researcher Jane Wanchun Wong. It was later confirmed by Michelle Yasmeen Haq, Twitter Senior Product Manager who then shared valuable insights on this upcoming feature.
The hide tweet option will offer more control to the user to monitor and block conversation that affects the overall credibility of a tweet. We often hear from heavy tweeters that they want to be able to protect their tweet said, Haq. Among 3 from every 8 people who are important and Twitter want to empower to make conversation as healthy as possible through this control, Haq tweeted in context to explain practicality of feature.
3/8 People who start interesting conversations on Twitter are really important to us, and we want to empower them to make the conversations they start as healthy as possible by giving them some control.

Twitter also allows to Block, Mute and Report a tweet but that is applicable to those tweets which violate policies, otherwise, a Twitter user who started a healthy conversation has nothing much to shield his/her conversation from spamming. Allowing users to hide comments they disagree let the OP to focus on maintaining only those conversation which he/she thing goes the best with their tweet.
7/8 We think the transparency of the hidden replies would allow the community to notice and call out situations where people use the feature to hide content they disagree with. We think this can balance the product experience between the original Tweeter and the audience.

To make things easier the side menu will also have a section of seeing hidden tweets to allow a user to view the list of hidden replies.

There is no official release date, but Haq shared it will be testing publicly in a coming month. From years Twitter had implemented several features to keep its social environment healthy and fertile for masses, still, it is possible to manipulate actions and behaviors that can lead to nationwide disturbance as we had seen how Facebook was accused of acting as a Digital Gangster by British MP’s.
