Unnao rape survivor who accused BJP MLA hit by truck
Unnao Rape Survivor injured in a car crash that killed her aunts when a truck rammed into their car near Rae Bareli
The survivor of the Unnao Gangrape was seriously injured and two killed as the car they were travelling in was rammed by a truck. The rape survivors sister said that the girl was travelling with her aunts and lawyer when their car met with an accident in Rae Bareli district of Madhya Pradesh.
The teenage girl who had levied rape allegations against BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar last year. She and her family members were travelling to Rae Bareli district of Uttar Pradesh. A truck rammed into their car injuring the girl and her lawyer seriously. Her two aunts who were seriously injured and have succumbed to the injury. The security detail that the girl was meant to have, was not accompanying her. The truck that hit the vehicle had its number plate scrubbed with black paint. Its driver and owner have been arrested.
The rape survivor’s sister suspected foul-play and alleged that the accident was a ‘conspiracy’ to eliminate the witnesses and family. She demanded a CBI probe into the accident, calling it murder. She alleged that Mr. Sengar, an MLA from Bangermau in Unnao, was trying to eliminate the witnesses so that there is nobody left to run around for the case.
BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, who is the key accused in the rape case was arrested on April 13, 2018. Sengar, a four-time MLA, is lodged in the jail for allegedly raping the minor girl when she visited him for a job on June 4, 2017. The CBI had last year filed charge sheet against the MLA and several others.
The case had come to light after the victim allegedly attempted self-immolation outside Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s residence in Lucknow.
