TRP Scam: Republic TV CEO Vikas Khanchandani Granted With The Bail
As Per The Latest Reports, Republic TV CEO Vikas Khanchandani Has Been Granted With Bail In The TRP Scam Case. Apparently, He Had To Pay The Surety Amount Of Rs 50,000
Vikas Khanchandani, who is the CEO of Republic TV news channel was arrested by the Mumbai Police in fake TRP scam. As per the new developments in the case, the Esplanade Court on Wednesday i.e. Dec 16 has granted a bail to him. He was arrested on Dec 13, after he was alleged to be involved in the channel TRP scam.
On Tuesday morning, the Metropolitan Magistrate court at Esplanade held an hearing session on Vikas’ remand and his judicial custody for 14 days. Now, he has been granted bail on a surety amount of Rs 50,000. Khanchandani was apparently grilled earlier by the investigators officials multiple times after he was arrested.

For the unversed, Mumbai Police had registered a case of Fake TRP racket in India. Republic channel was among the list of other TV channels which were accused of flouting the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India regulations by paying cable operators, as a mean to increase the watch time of their respective channels. CEO, Khanchandani’s name was mentioned in the list of accusers in this scam and thus he was arrested by Police.
