Although the vaccination drive began on a big scale in India, many people are still unable to get the slots. The nation began above 18-year-old vaccination from May 1 and the registrations for the same was started in the last week of April. Here are a few helpful tips and tricks you can follow to get slots on the CoWIN and Aarogya Setu.
Several tech giants have introduced new features on their respective applications and sites about notifying the vacant slots in a particular area. These include Paytm Vaccine Finder, Vaccinate Me(an initiative by HealthifyMe), WhatsApp MyGov Corona Helpdesk among others. The subscribers on the ‘My Government Corona Helpdesk’ bot can get WhatsApp updates on vaccine centres. But it doesn’t alert about the available vaccination slots in the nearby area.
Talking about the tricks and tips that have been deployed to get the vaccination slots on CoWin and Aarogya Setu app, few people shared details about their registration process. According to a report by NDTV, Harsh Rana (from Noida) informed, “You have to spend a lot of time on the CoWin portal, just to be able to keep refreshing and checking. There are certain things that worked for me – how far are you willing to travel (for vaccination). Just being open to traveling helps a lot. Keep looking…I live in UP. Vaccinations here started today, but I got vaccinated a week ago in South Delhi.”
Reshva Munjal from Gurugram said there is no alternative to hard work when it comes to booking a vaccination slot. “Keep refreshing the CoWIN website,” she stated. She also stated that the best time to find the slots is between 6 pm to 11 pm.
Owing to the second wave of the pandemic the nation recorded its highest surge in fresh cases, which crossed the mark of 4 lakh cases recently. Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat, West Bengal, Karnataka and few other regions reported having the highest number of cases. These regions have also reported dealing with a shortage of supply in oxygen cylinders and vaccines.
