Tiger Woods Back Home And Recovering After Car Crash

Golf legend Tiger Woods on Wednesday returned home from the hospital. The popular golfer suffered a nasty car accident last month in which he had suffered leg injuries. Woods was injured on February 23, as he was on his way to a television shoot for GolfTV. His SUV crashed into a median, rolled over and ended up on its side near a steep road.

Tiger Woods had to be pulled out of the windshield. The car crash had left the 82-time PGA Tour winner with a fractured right leg and shattered ankle.

In a statement released on social media, the golf superstar thanked the hospital staff. He wrote, “Happy to report that I am back home and continuing my recovery. I am so grateful for the outpouring of support and encouragement that I have received over the past few weeks.”

Woods underwent hours of surgery to repair his shattered lower right leg and ankle. A rod was inserted into his tibia and screws and pins were used to stabilise the joint.

His accident left his fans from the world of sport and beyond shocked. The former U.S. Presidents Donald Trump and Barack Obama were also among those who offered support.

Recently a dozen or so players at the Workday Championship in Florida wore black trousers and red shirts, Tiger Wood Sunday colours. It was in honour of his record-tying 82 victories on the PGA Tour — in the final round.
