Three Flights Bring Back Around 400 Indians From Kabul
Three Indian flights- Air India, Vistara, and IndiGo bring back around 400 Indian nationals from Kabul amidst rising chaos post Taliban takeover. The flights landed at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport Terminal 3 this morning
On Sunday (August 22), three Indian flights carrying around 400 Indian nationals landed at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport Terminal 3. These Indian citizens were evacuated from Kabul (Afghanistan) due to the deteriorating situations triggered after the nation was overtaken by the Taliban. Many people holding Indian citizenship are said to have missed their flights after a few challenges and interruptions caused by Taliban.
As per the media reports, a total of 168 people, including 107 Indians and 23 Afghan Sikhs and Hindus, were flown from Kabul to the Hindon airbase near Delhi in a C-17 heavy-lift military transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF). 87 Indians and two Nepalese nationals were brought back in a special Air India flight from Dushanbe.

Reportedly, many citizens of Afghanistan tried leaving their own county after the situations turned worse. Indian government had officially launched an evacuation missions in coordination with the U.S., Qatar, Tajikistan and several other friendly countries.
For the unversed, the Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya tweeted, “We have decided to vaccinate Afghanistan returnees with free Polio Vaccine – OPV & fIPV, as a preventive measure against Wild Polio Virus. Take a look at the vaccine drive at Delhi International Airport.”
