After Rick and Morty all the way to Eric Andre Show; Adult Swim has put out some great originals. They are all set to take it a notch higher with a new game-changer Three Busy Debras. The new Adult Swim show tells the side-splitting story of three suburban housewives and chronicles their surreal day-to-day routines. All three of these lovely ladies go by the name Debra and reside in the affluent community of Lemoncurd, Connecticut.
The show Three Busy Debras actually started as a one-act play in Brooklyn when the stars were between the ages of 19 and 23. According to a Vice article the play has touched on “incest, necrophilia, the Holocaust, 9/11, Kony 2012, kidnapping, pedophilia, suicide, matricide, masturbation, infidelity committed with ghosts, and brunch.”
Within the trio, the first Debra is a white supremacist, the second is having an inappropriate relationship with her autistic son, and the third believes there’s no such thing as rape.
Three Busy Debras was created by, written by and stars the talented comedians Sandy Honig, Mitra Jouhari, and Alyssa Stonoha. Amy Poehler’s Paper Kite Productions is backing the deeply funny show. The first female-led Adult Swim show premieres Sunday, March 29 at midnight.
