Thorati actress Sathyakala has been kidnapped by her parents, filmmakers filed petition at High Court
The leading actress of the upcoming Tamil movie Thorati has been reportedly kidnapped. According to the India Glitz report, the makers of the film have filed a petition at the High Court alleging that Thorati actress has been kidnapped or abducted by none other than her parents.
The kidnapped actress is identified as Sathyakala. According to reports, Sathyakala used to complain to her cast and crew that her father and stepmother are not happy with her for being a part of the film industry. When the actress did not appear at the sets of the film or respond to the director’s calls, director filed a petition at the High Court, claiming that Sathyakala has been kidnapped by her parents.
Speaking about the film, Marimuthu — director of Thorati — said that it is set in1980s and it throws light on the lives of shepherds. He added that a lot of things are inspired by his real-life experiences. The story of the film revolves around the goatherd community who walks miles in search of pasture for their sheep and goats, how they protect them in sheds at night and how the animals’ excreta is used as manure, etc.
Due to its gripping storyline, the film has managed to make it to several international film festivals and has been critically-acclaimed.
“Thorati is the long stick with a hook attached to its end which is used to pluck leaves from high tree trunks for feeding their herd. They are also used as protective weapons from wild animals during the night. And one may call the ‘Thorati’ as the sixth finger of a shepherd,” Director Marimuthu added.
Tamil movie ‘Thorati’ is scheduled to hit the theatres on 2nd August 2019.
