Babul Supriyo, Patanjali Spokesperson Among 11 Whose Phones Stolen At Arun Jaitley’s Funeral
The two were among the 11 others whose phones were stolen amid the jostling crowd are BJP MP Babul Supriyo and Patanjali Spokesperson, SK Tijarawala.
Babul Supriyo — Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament — and Patanjali Spokesperson S.K Tijarawala was among 11 people whose mobile phones were stolen at the funeral of former Finance Minister and BJP veteran Arun Jaitley on this Sunday. Notably, the cremation of Arun Jaitley took place at Nigambodh ghat on 25th August 2019.
According to reports, thieves took advantage of the jostling crowd and stole phones of more than 10 people from the last rites of Arun Jaitley. The incident came to light when Tijarawala took to the microblogging site Yesterday and complained that he is among the 11 people whose phone were stolen on Sunday evening. Tagging Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Delhi Police, he said that BJP leader and Asansol MP Supriyo also had his phone stolen.
“When all were paying their last tribute to Arun Jaitley, the phone from which this photo was taken, also gave me a final goodbye. Sad that people are not sparing cremation ground and are taking advantage of stealing things,” he wrote on Twitter.
In a series of tweets, Tijarawala also revealed the current location of his lost phone. Police said that have received 5 complaints including one from Supriyo in this regard and probe has been initiated.
