The Witcher teaser: Henry Cavill looks rock solid as Geralt

The first teaser of Netflix ‘The Witcher’ is out. The movie featuring Henry Cavill is based on Polish fantasist Andrzej Sapkowski’s fantasy book of the same name. The book series has also been adapted into a popular action RPG video game series.

It is all about Geralt Rivia played by Henry Cavill as he struggles to find his place in a world where people are not what they seem. The other two major characters are Geralt’s lover Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) and Freya Allan as Ciri, a young girl who Geralt and Yennefer end up playing unwitting parents to.

The title of the series is derived from an order of sorcerer-warriors called the Witchers. They are monster killers who are trained since childhood to gain abilities like instant healing, exceptional strength endurance and magic. In the course of time, their hair turns white, eyes have feline characteristics and are left with just a few human emotions.

The Witcher is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. Destiny pushes him toward a powerful sorceress and a young princess with a dangerous secret. The three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.

The teaser looks amazing and we think it can take the place of Game Of Thrones easily. There is no fixed release date yet. But apparently, it might start streaming by the end of 2019.
