Canadian singer The Weeknd drops new single “Heartless”
The Grammy-winning singer launched the new track on Tuesday night during the seventh episode of his Beats 1 radio show Memento Mori.
Popular Canadian singer and songwriter, Abel Makkonen Tesfaye — popularly known by his stage name The Weeknd — has finally dropped a new single titled, “Heartless”. Sharing Heartless launch news on social media, The Weeknd shared a blurred photo of himself and wrote, “The fall starts tomorrow night.”
The Grammy-winning singer launched the new track on Tuesday night during the seventh episode of his Beats 1 radio show Memento Mori.
The recently launched song itself a characteristically Weeknd, although more upbeat and single-ish than last year’s low-key “My Dear Melancholy” EP. The new single has a slightly more hip-hop vibe, with the occasional Migos-style vocal interjection, siren sound and beat breakdown.
The Weeknd has not yet announced the project’s official launch date but his new single indicates its about to release anytime soon.
The latest track ‘Heartless’ can be streamed on YouTube or on Spotify. The track was produced by Metro Boomin, The Weeknd, and Illangelo while the song was written by Abel, Andre Eric Proctor (Dre Moon), Illangelo, and Metro.
