The Voice’s Natasha Stuart Dead At 43 After Battling Cancer
The singer was a part of Delta Goodrem's team
Natasha Stuart, who was a contestant on The Voice last year, has died at the age of 43. She was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago. The singer lost her mother to cancer at the tender age of 14. Natasha was surrounded by her family at the time of death in St Vincent’s Hospital.
Natasha Stuart was on Delta Goodrem’s team before being eliminated from the show. She had a career that spanned over two decades. During this time, she sang backup for numerous artists like Delta, Jessica Mauboy, Anthony Callea, Boy George, Michael Bolton, and Tim Campbell.
She shared her story through the hit reality show, encouraging women to be vigilant about breast cancer examinations.
Natasha had to undergo a lumpectomy and a straining routine of chemotherapy, but the music kept her going.
“The way I stayed positive through chemo was to go and do my gigs,” she said. “Getting up on stage in a wig and being a normal girl was the best thing for me because it was a complete escape. I didn’t look like a cancer patient and no-one would know because I was busting out some Rihanna.”
Natasha said that her experience on the show was made more poignant by the fact that her coach, Delta Goodrem, was also a cancer survivor.
