The Undertaker is ready to make his return to the WrestleMania stage after taking out AJ Styles at WWE Super ShowDown. The Undertaker took no victims as he did away with The OC members Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. He went on to take Rey Mysterio’s place in the Tuwaiq Trophy gauntlet match at WWE Super ShowDown in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Undertaker defeated Styles with ease, not even bothering to take off his coat before chokeslamming The Phenomenal One. This development could apparently lead to a match between the two at WrestleMania 36. The Undertaker’s last WrestleMania appearance was against John Cena in 2018. According to reports, Undertaker himself requested this match as he sees Styles as this generation’s Shawn Michaels.
The Undertaker, of course, has a formidable record at WrestleMania. He had an undefeated streak at WrestleMania for 21 matches before Brock Lesnar famously broke The Streak at WrestleMania 30. Undertaker still has an enviable record of 24-2 at the grandest stage of them all. He lost his second Wrestlemania match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33. His last WrestleMania showing was a dominant beatdown of John Cena. He defeated Cena in two minutes and 47 seconds.
On the other hand, AJ Styles doesn’t have a bad WrestleMania record either. The Phenomenal One has fought four WrestleMania matches in his career so far. He has only lost one of these in his WrestleMania debut against Chris Jericho in 2016.
It will be interesting to see how this rivalry will be booked. Undertaker vs AJ Styles has all the makings of a Phenomenal match. The anticipation amongst fans is sky high following The Undertaker’s return at WWE Super ShowDown.
